Used golf carts today have come a long way in the
last few years. Generally speaking, most of the used golf cars offered by golf cart dealers are rental
carts from golf courses around the country. The manufacturers, E-Z GO, Club Car, and Yamaha, each rent or
lease a fleet of electric or gas powered golf cars to a golf course for usually 1 - 5 years. At the end
of the lease the manufacturer would retain the old fleet as "trade-ins" and then the golf course would start a
new lease term with a new fleet of golf carts.
The traded in fleet
of golf carts would then be sold to local golf cart dealers all across the country at wholesale prices.
The used golf cart dealers then recondition or refurbish the basic 2 passenger used golf carts for resale to
consumers. Some of them are set aside to be converted into specialized golf carts and a small group are
earmarked for full customization. A Custom Used Golf Cart can range from a simple set of seat covers,
upgraded hubcaps, and maybe a set of lights. A more advanced custom used golf cart might include a new
painted body, rear seat kit, custom dashboard cover, and polished aluminum wheels and everything in
between.
The used golf carts
available in todays market are not like the golf cars your grandfather used. With all the advances in
technology and design dealers have converted the used golf cart into utility vehicles, second vehicles in
retirement communities, status symbols in upscaled neighborhoods, high quality show carts at custom car &
motorcycle shows, corporate advertising tools, and an individual families used golf cart for playing golf
around the country.
